Sascha Zehe

Hey there! I’m Sascha, a storyteller, worldbuilder, and lifelong fantasy enthusiast who believes in the transformative power of stories.

After spending years in the tech and gaming industries—working those infamous 80-hour weeks and navigating the world of venture funding—life threw me a curve ball in late 2023. A health crisis made me reevaluate everything, and I finally decided to embrace what I’ve loved since I was sixteen: creating and sharing stories.

My journey with storytelling began with Baldur’s Gate 2 and the Dragonlance series, which sparked endless hours of forum roleplay and pen-and-paper RPGs. While I pursued a “sensible” path—training in application development and later earning a Master’s in History in Denmark—I never stopped dreaming about creating worlds of my own.

In late 2023, I launched “The Tale Tinkerer” YouTube channel as a hobby, but something unexpected happened: within six weeks, we hit 1,500 subscribers and achieved monetization. The incredible response from this growing community gave me the courage to take the leap. In June 2024, I had recovered enough health-wise to leave the corporate world behind and pursue my creative passions full-time.

Today, I live on an old farm in Germany with my family, where I split my time between working on my debut novel set in the world of Arlitera, creating educational content for aspiring writers, and developing worldbuilding  / writing programs.

When I’m not writing or creating content, you might find me deep in a game of Spirit Island or Marvel Champions, reading yet another fantasy novel, or rewatching Lord of the Rings for the umpteenth time.

I believe storytelling is one of humanity’s most fundamental and crucial skills. Through The Tale Tinkerer, I’m committed to helping others find their voice and bring their imaginative worlds to life—whether they dream of publishing or simply want to express the stories within them.

I do not claim to be able to teach how to become a published author – my only goal is to help as many people as possible tell their stories, their way. What they ultimately do with those stories is up to them.
